Teneille established Coffs Coast Midwifery at the start of 2024 after working as a Registered Midwife since 2012, a Registered Nurse since 2005 and a University Teacher since 2021. Teneille is an Endorsed Private Practice Midwife, which means she has additional qualifications to prescribe medicines, order pathology (blood, urine and swab tests) and radiology (ultrasounds). This also means that Medicare rebates are available for appointments.
Teneille has been working within Maternity at Coffs Harbour since 2012 (you’ll usually find her in birth suite), as well as educating Bachelor of Midwifery students at the local University, and tutoring student midwives for a QLD University. She has also acted in various roles within Maternity such as Clinical Midwifery Student Facilitator and Clinical Midwifery Educator. Teneille also worked a few years in a pregnancy support antenatal clinic as an Endorsed Midwife, supporting women from varying backgrounds and situations such as migrant, refugee and Indigenous women; plus those with complex social situations such as domestic violence or financial difficulty.
Teneille is a wife as well as a mother of four children (3 boys and a girl), two are currently undergoing university study and two are still school aged. Teneille has been married for 23 years and in her (limited) spare time when she is not midwifing, you’ll find her running (and crazily entering half marathons, later regretting that decision), driving Penelope (her 1964 VW Beetle), walking on the beach, growing her own fruit and veggies or watching AFL (Go Carlton)!
Teneille is passionate about providing woman-centred continuity of care! Teneille believes that every pregnant woman should have access to care provided by the same midwife. It really helps when you don’t have to keep repeating your story and can build a trusting partnership whilst working together to tailor care to you and your baby’s needs. Teneille loves educating and empowering women so they can make informed choices and are prepared not only for labour and birth, but the postnatal period! Teneille believes women are amazing and loves supporting them (and their families) on their exciting journey into parenthood.
Teneille would love to meet with you and support you throughout your pregnancy, birth and postnatal period. Phone or email for more information!
