Continuity: Teneille partners with you throughout your pregnancy, builds trust and rapport and gets to know you and your family! At each appointment you won’t have to tell the same story over and over and Teneille genuinely cares about how you are feeling! She will know where you are at and can regularly check in on your wellbeing. Continuity of midwifery care is the gold standard of maternity care, there is so much research that shows that women who have a known care provider throughout their pregnancy have better health outcomes for mother and baby!
Home visits: This means no long wait times in a clinic waiting room as your appointment will be held in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. There will be no long travel time and no dragging the other children out with you to appointments! The family can keep doing what they are doing while you and Teneille!
Accessibility: You have access to Teneille between visits. Teneille is happy to answer any questions or concerns you have via text, call or email, or even do an extra visit if required.
No! You can simply contact Teneille and arrange your first appointment!
All appointments are a maximum out of pocket cost of $80 if you have Medicare (except the first booking in appointment which is $100 out of pocket). If you have already reached the Medicare threshold then the cost of appointments will be even less! Teneille does not charge for telehealth. Please contact Teneille for pricing if you do not have Medicare.
No! As Teneille is an Endorsed Midwife, she has extra qualifications which means she can order pathology (blood tests), radiology (ultrasounds) and prescribe medications. You should see your GP for any concerns not related to pregnancy.
As soon as you know you are pregnant you can give Teneille a call to get started! Teneille can order all relevant blood tests and ultrasounds to confirm the pregnancy and start caring for you straight away!
Yes! Teneille will organise a one off “booking in” visit at the hospital you plan to birth at, but otherwise you will have continuity of midwifery care with her. If there are any risk factors that present at booking in or throughout the pregnancy or postnatal period, then Teneille will consult with other healthcare providers, but only with your consent. Teneille will refer you to the hospital for any urgent treatment or if she recommends you see one of the obstetric doctors. Teneille can provide labour and birth support and once you are discharged home Teneille will continue care and look after you and your new baby!
At this stage Teneille has chosen not to provide homebirth services but watch this space in the future! In the meantime, if home birth services are something you would like, she can put you in contact with a homebirth midwife.
Please feel free to contact Teneille for more information. Teneille is happy to give you a call where she can discuss your care needs, explain her services and answer any questions you still have.
